I thought I would make my first "official" post be of Sara's birth-day. Which of course came 5 days later than expected. I was adamant that I did not want to be induced, however when I was over my due date and my parents were about to leave Chicago without seeing their next grandchild, we felt that it was the right choice. Also, since my last baby that was 5 days late was over eight pounds, my doctor felt that we shouldn't let her get too big. Everything went remarkably well (including epidural... it actually worked this time) and Sara Helen Goates made her long anticipated appearance. We feel so blessed to have this little miracle in our family. She has such a sweet, patient disposition and we are so grateful that she is here, happy and healthy.

Sara's bilirubin was high so she was under the bili-lights the second day and night that we were in the hospital. She had her own shades and everything.
