Grandma B & Papa Reed's visit

My Mom and Dad flew out the day before my due date (Aug 13th) with the plan that within a day or two of their arrival baby Goates would make her debut. Obviously that didn't quite happen, but Jenna and Bryson kept them occupied the ENTIRE time. I am SO grateful they were here because our children have an abundance of energy and I was so huge that I couldn't really do a lot with them. So Grandma and Papa took several (like 85) trips to the park and from the moment Bryson woke up he was dragging Papa either to the basement or outside. They got to play Candyland for the first time in probably 20 years and watch 101 Dalmatians about 10 times. Although it was hard that they had to leave the day after the baby was born, Jenna and Bryson were able to have their undivided attention, which I know they were very grateful for. Bryson Reed (as my dad refers to him) became so attached to his Papa Reed that after they left he would still wake up looking for him, and Jenna keeps wanting to go to Utah to see her Grandma B. We love our Grandma B and Papa Reed and are so glad we got to spend time with them.

Bryson makes it a little difficult to "play" Candyland, and apparently it doesn't help much with Jenna's legs/feet on the board, but they had fun and that's all that matters.

Jenna didn't have to do much convincing to get Grandpa to watch a movie in the basement.

  1. Ahhhh!! Gurnee Mills!! Loved that place when we lived in Milwaukee. Looks like you enjoyed having your mother out.
