Sara's Blessing

Okay, I am seriously so behind! But that is beside the point of this post.

We were able to bless Sara while we were in Utah at Steve's parents home ward. It was fun because it was the ward that he grew up in and there were lots of familiar faces, but the familiar faces that we were most excited to see were those of our families. I was on cloud 9 because ALL of my family was able to be there, seriously I am in tears right now even thinking about it. I am so grateful for their love and support and they will never know how much it meant to have them there with Steve and I for this special day.

It was a beautiful day and Sara was an angel (as always) and I was especially grateful that there were no blow-outs or spit-ups on her beautiful dress. There is a little story behind her dress, you see when Jenna was born I decided that I would always do for the next child what I did for Jenna. Well I crocheted Jenna's blessing dress and it is something that I look at and am still amazed that I made it. Well, when we found out that Sara was a girl I diligently started crocheting yet another blessing dress. As many of you are aware, when you have two other children running around (and through the thread) it is EXTREMELY hard to get anything done. With Jenna being my first I had oodles of time to work on the dress, now...not so much. To make a long story short, I was off the hook when Steve found a beautiful dress in the Philippines. I thought that this dress was very special in it's own way even though I hadn't made it. Of course I am of the very biased opinion that she would have looked beautiful in a gunny-sack, that's just how darn cute this kid is, but the dress was gorgeous and worked out perfectly.

Sara, as many of you know was quite the little surprise to our family. It was so difficult getting pregnant with our first two, we thought our family was complete. But you see our little Sara is a very strong little spirit. I knew that she was going to come to our family, I didn't know when and I didn't know how because financially and physically we would not have been able to go through what we did to have Jenna & Bryson. So it was so special for us to be there blessing this beautiful baby who chose to let us be her parents for a little while.

I am so grateful for her and how her radiant countenance helps me want to do better and be better so that I am worthy to be her mother.

So with that, here are some pics of Sara's Blessing Day...
