Happy Birthday my Luff!

I started this post a few weeks ago, and obviously it never made it to the blog. So before I post pics of the Christmas madness, I have to let my hubby know how much I love and appreciate him. So he turned the big 3-0 on December 19th, it was such a good day and he was even home on his birthday. I called it a birthday miracle, because I was secretly disappointed when he told me he wasn't taking his birthday off but thanks to the 12+ inches of snow that fell overnight, he was "working from home". He didn't want a big to-do on his big day, just some cake and some ice cream, so that's what we did.

It's crazy to think that it was only 20 years ago that John Stevens and Sam Aplanalp tackled "the new kid" in the 5th grade so that I could ask him "to go out with me" I don't think John and Sam really know how much I appreciated their efforts that day. I wonder if they even remember. I also wonder if Steve realized what he was committing to that day, all I know is that I am grateful that he stuck around, even when I made it really difficult to even like me.

So just in case you are interested, here are 30 reasons (in no specific order) why I love and am grateful for Stephen Phillip Goates:

- He loves me
- He loves our children
- He loves God and our Savior
- He's sensitive
- he's humble
- a very hard worker
- he makes me a better person
- has great genetics (have you seen our kids?)
- He can build shelves
- he can build lots of stuff now that I think about it!
- He's a momma's boy
- gives awesome back rubs
- never complains, even when I think he should
- He holds the Priesthood
- he kicks butt!
- He's a hotty
- and has perfect skin (totally not fair!)
- he plays with our kids
- almost always let's me have my way
- he tells me I'm beautiful
- he is the best gift-giver...EVER
- is a very genuine person
- He's laid back
- still thinks he's Superman
- He watches chick-flicks without complaint
- He can fix anything
- He's an outdoorsy guy
- very honest
- can lift heavy stuff
- He can still make me laugh

Here's to another 30 years my Luff!

  2. Awww, so sweet. He does have nice skin, I noticed that on Sunday. So not fair. I bet he has long eyelashes, too, cause that's a total unfair guy thing, too.

  7. Happy Belated Birthday Steve! Yes! I would trade my albino-coloured skin for yours anyday (as weird as that may sound.) Is it weird to have girls be jealous of the quality of your skin?
