It was raining again last week, and if you have a basement, you know how valuable a sump pump is when it is raining really hard. Well, it was one of those days when it was raining really hard and I looked outside at the hose to make sure that the pump was working, and to my surprise there was no hose. Steve had wound it up to mow the lawn. Okay, I am a lazy (I would like to refer to it as sleep deprived) and I didn't want to take the 10 steps out in the pouring rain to fix the hose. I called Steve (which probably took more effort than fixing the hose) to ask if it needed to be straight to drain and of course he answered yes it needed to be straight for the water to go outside instead of into our basement. Of course I complained how I didn't want to do it and he jokingly says "send Jenna" he thought he was joking, to me it was genius! She has been dieing to wear her new rain boots and I figured what a fabulous opportunity. I know, you think I am kidding and what a horrible mother to exploit a child's willingness to help. But she did great and even turned to give me an unsolicited thumbs-up when the job was done!

That's awesome...love it.
