I have a bit of backtracking to do, I would apologize, but I am not going to because, well...see above.
We were anxious to get home from the hospital after Little Bean was born, call me crazy because it's pure chaos with the crazies running around, but believe it or not I really missed the crazy munchkins. It was up in the air whether or not we would be coming home on time or not because Little Bean tested Coombs positive. Translation = there is a difference between my blood type and Bean's blood type. (this is different than the RH factor because Mr Incredible is RH negative like me) My body sees the baby's blood as foreign, and makes antibodies against it. Some of my blood and antibodies get into the baby's blood and attacks. It starts to break some of baby's red blood cells which can cause jaundice. This has happened with all of my kids (Muffin being the worst), so Bean was a glow-worm for the night - he had to sleep on a "bili-blanket to help break down the bilirubin in his system.
Fortunately his bilirubin was much better the following morning so we had the okay to go home.
One of my favorite moments with my babies - getting them ready to go home (*tear*). Little Bean, not so much for him. He doesn't like to be messed with, he just wanted to be left alone. But after his little fit he calmed down and just hung out with mom.
The classic car seat picture-
We were able to leave the hospital pretty early and get home. Aunt Linny had helped the kids make a cute sign for us and Grandma B and Aunt Linny had cleaned the house (I think Papa supervised). Of course from the second we walked in poor Little Bean was ambushed. Muffin didn't want to share...at all.
I don't know what it is about a sign that makes you feel so loved (*another tear*)
B-Man got to hold the baby first, which Muffin was not happy about...
Happy Times! Muffin's turn!
Watch out! We took him away!
I have some updated pics of Little Bean and also lots of other events to post - so keep checking back. Can't believe that it's already been a month since we brought him home!
Tina & Steve you have such a cute family. Congrats on the new addition.
